Film „Out of the Ashes- Warsaw Story” at Banker’s Club
For the 70th birthday of fellow Rotarian Eugeniusz Gorczyca, Mark Krawczynski presented at the Banker’s Club of Warsaw his special bi-lingual film about the biggest architectural project in the history of the world, which was the rebuilding of Warsaw after WWII.
Over 15,000 buildings were destroyed or badly damaged during the war. This was approximately 4 times bigger than the devastation caused by the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. The film called „Out of the Ashes – Warsaw Story” tells the story about thie amazing rebuilding success which was achieved by the people of Poland without proper equipment and without support from any Marshall Plan funds.
Mr. Gorczyca felt that the international gathering of guests for his birthday anniversary might be more inspired to hear about what some consider to be the greatest success of the Polish nation, rather than simply be entertained by a musical performance. So he invited our Foundation Director to make this unique film presentation at the Banker’s Club immediately after the sumptuous birthday dinner.
The guests’ response was most positive and emotional and Mr. Krawczynski is very grateful for Mr. Gorczyca’s invitation. He wishes Mr. Gorczyca a most happy and healthy 70 year and many more wonderful and dynamic years for the future.
