Mark Krawczynski travelled in November 2015 to the University of Wisconsin and met with civic leaders in the capital of that state, Madison.

He lectured there about the newest ecology projects which were created in Poland together with international designers.

He also pesented the film about Poland and the rebuilding of Warsaw called „Out of the Ashes”, to members of the City Council as well local scientists and academic visionaries from this famous university. This film presents the biggest architecutral project in the history of the world, which was the rebuilding of Warsaw after World War II, in a very dramatic way which is also very inspiring for all commuinities and demostrates how Polish spirit and culture have survived some of the biggest challenges in history. The film was co-financed by this Foundation and is available in both English and Polish.

Our Director also presentd a magnificent display book about the Royal Castle in Warsaw to the local community in Madison. This book, also in English and Polish, includes excellent texts about Polish culture and history as well as incorporating spectacular photographs of the reconstruction of this amazing historical edifice which took 17 years from 1971 to 1988. It forms part of the Old Town of Warsaw which has been placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage Register in the highest category of historical monuments from around the world.

Mark Krawczynski also presented an elegant hitorical book about the most famous Polish engineer Rudolf Modrzejewski who designed the greatest number of bridges (more than 30) of any engineer in the world. Most of these were built in the US. The most famous of them was the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. Towards the end of his life he had changed his name to Ralph Modjeski and not many people, even of Polish descent, know about the amazing creative output of this incredible engineer.
